This bundle includes three activities that focus on air masses and weather fronts.
This is a fun way for students to practice vocabulary for fronts and air masses! There are 15 dominoes total. To use, cut them out and have students start with the "Start" domino. The dominoes will make a straight line until they get to the "End" domino. Students love to do these collaboratively and are great for review stations.
***The dominoes are in the correct order on the document and serve as the answer key.
These dominoes cover:
This puzzle reviews:
Fronts: Stationary, Warm, Cold, Occluded
Air Masses: Maritime Polar, Maritime Tropical, Continental Polar, Continental Tropical
I recommend that you have three different colored card stock. But the activity can be done with regular computer paper also.
This activity is just a fun way for students to review vocabulary and map symbols.
This activity can be used as stations or as a scavenger hunt. Print out and cut the stations in half. I usually hang these around the room but they can also be used at tables. Students use their Chromebook, iPad, or iPhone to scan the QR code. They will then be taken to an article or to a Youtube video. As they watch or read, they will fill out the recording sheet which is their notes.
The six stations:
What is a weather front?
This is wonderful because it is all student led with very little prep! Students love using the technology and barely seem to notice they're basically taking notes.
There are 6 total stations so I usually will make two sets to hang around the room that way there are less traffic jams and they can go to the stations in any order. I also like to hang up the answer keys so students can check their answers when they have finished the activity.
