PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

UPDATE: 17 page enrichment assessment added. Now a multi level assignment with material for higher level college prep, honors, or enthusiastic weather students.

No other activity like it!!! A truly fantastic activity and lab on FRONTS and the weather associated with them and their proximity. This activity has been used with elementary school students all the way up to an introductory college meteorology class. This is a cut and paste or laminate and Velcro 17 page activity with an in order answer key at the end. Due to the format of the lesson, it can be modified for a variety of ability levels. Students differentiate between cold, warm, stationary, and occluded fronts. Symbols and particular weather conditions are assigned to each front. The lab continues its multilevel approach by adding mid-latitude cyclones, storms, computer forecasting models, satellite imaging, and air masses to the mix. Lots of pictures and great feedback from kids and parents alike.

UPDATE: ENRICHMENT ASSESSMENT DETAILS BELOW:

A higher-level assessment on weather: air masses and fronts. This pairs very well with other weather activities/labs posted on my TPT. This assessment is designed for the college preparatory or honors student in grades 7 – 12 or undergraduate introductory meteorology student. The enrichment/extension section includes varied questioning pedagogy as well as interactive mapping tasks.
