This flipchart contains two graphing activities you can incorporate in your morning meeting.
The first is a simple weather graph you can use during morning meeting to incorporate and review graphing and graph interpretation skills. I would display this every morning as part of our morning routine and save it so that the data is there for the next day. Your students can take turns filling in the squares for the weather of the day. If you have a multi-level class like I did, I was able to review matching, counting, comparing numbers, quantitative concepts (less, more), and prediction.
The second is a lunch count template. It was a big hit with my students. It requires a little bit of prepping in the morning, but once you get the hang of it, it doesn't take more than 1-2 minutes to prepare. Follow these instructions to make the most out of the page:
1. Link your school's lunch menu calendar to the symbol in the upper right corner so that you can access it each morning.
2. Use google images to search for pictures of the lunch choices for that day.
3. Drag or cut/paste the pictures into the white boxes.
4. You're ready to go!
Appropriate for levels K-2.
