This assignment is great as an introduction to mapping, as a quick refresher lesson, extra credit, or as a connector between geography and science (works perfectly with a weather unit).
Note: I have two similar assignments available on my site with latitude/longitude mapping and geology/dinosaur symbols (this assignment has completely different coordinates than those assignments so each can be used with the same classes and answers do not repeat)
Part 1 - Students will discuss four key items that scientists track in the atmosphere (thunderstorms, clouds, rain, and warm fronts) and use their real meteorology symbols. Students will then use the map to identify the latitude-longitude coordinates of each item.
Part 2 - The second map allows students to draw meteorology symbols onto an empty map by using the coordinates provided.
Part 3 - A simple quiz that combines the reading/drawing skills from Part 1 and Part 2.
Maps and sheets are provided as PDF files so they cannot be changed.
Thank you for your purchase and for taking the time to leave me positive feedback.
