Students will practice and learn how to do the weather report in English while having fun.

The pictionary introduces weather related vocabulary. It helps students learn about weather and it makes it easy for them to do an oral or written weather report.

The download includes 2 sheets:
The Weather (Pictionary)
Weather Report

Students can use the worksheet WEATHER REPORT and answer the questions to write the weather report for the day. They can also use the vocabulary from the pictionary to do the weather forecast for the next day or week.

You can use choral repetition first to drill these new words. Then, call on students to say them individually.

When students become familiar with the vocabulary, you can make it part of your routine. Students do the written weather report at the beginning of each class.

Then, they work with a partner asking questions and comparing their answers (e.g. What day of the week is it? What’s the weather like today? It’s hot and sunny. How do you feel? I feel happy.) The teacher checks if everyone got the weather report right. It takes about 5 minutes.

Illustrated vocabulary and expressions:
The weather, What’s the weather like today?
temperature, termometer, degrees, Fahrenheit, Celsius,
It’s…hot, warm, cool, cold, freezing, sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, raining, stormy,
windy, snowing, foggy, humid
There is…a thunderstorm, hail, a rainbow, a tornado, a flood, a drought

Great for ESL students. It is suitable for a variety of grades. It can also be used for homework.

Students will practice speaking in English and they will expand vocabulary while having fun.

Enjoy and have fun with your students! :)
