As part of some units, we asked students inquire into the weather of different places around the world. This was not only fun for them, but had them doing measurement, geography and many other things. They looked at maps, converted between Celsius and Fahrenheit, compared forecasts to actual weather, and even connected different weather patterns to different biomes around the world.
I wanted to share 3 variations on weather recording sheets (and a generic version too) that I have used in the classroom. These are all in one document, with three pages.
- The first was used to compare local forecasts with actual weather.
- The second was used to by different groups to compare the actual weather of different places around the world (in both C and F).
- The third was used when looking at different biomes around the world. In different groups, students inquired into the weather of different locations from different biomes, comparing the precipitation and high and low temperatures. They then made graphs and we compared the data.
That was how I used them, but of course, feel free to use them how you like. I hope they are useful for you - Enjoy!
