A complete weather unit, originally created for NYS Regents level Earth Science, but it has been modified to be a bit more generic. It is organized into 8 different topics and totals 94 slides between all of the presentations. Many reflect the Earth Science Reference Tables, which are a wonderful resource, and are available online (for free) if you are not already using them in NY. You can modify these slides to fit what you need. The unit is set up as follows:
- Atmosphere Layers and Temperature (16 slides)
- Pressure and Wind (15 slides)
- Wind Belts and Jet Streams (10 slides)
- Moisture (20 slides)
- Station Models (7 slides)
- Clouds, Precipitation, Pressure Systems (7 slides)
- Air Masses and Fronts (15 slides)
- Hurricanes/Tornadoes (5 slides)
Several of the PowerPoints have animated labels and simple highlights to draw attention to key areas. Temperature scales, for example, are from the Earth Science Reference Tables, and are labeled in their individual increments by animated numbers.
