This set of task cards covers a broad range of topics that introduce the importance of our atmosphere to the weather that surrounds us. This set of 44 Weather and Atmosphere task cards will help you either to introduce or wrap up a lesson over Earth's atmosphere and how it affects our weather. 36 cards are multiple choice questions dealing with a variety of topics such as angle of sunlight (insolation), layers of the atmosphere - troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, etc; factors affecting air pressure; global and local winds. Several concepts are reviewed multiple times in a variety of ways.
The final 8 cards are constructed response that invite students to answer by describing, summarizing, defining and predicting.
Several answer sheets are provided for both the multiple choice cards and the constructed response cards. An answer key to the Weather and Atmosphere task cards is also included.
Many of the questions in this task card set can be answered using most upper elementary science text books, or through websites online such as www.noaa.gov or www.weather.com.
