In this ready to use differentiated lesson, students are introduced to what climate means, and how it differs from weather, and there is also formative assessment and prior knowledge assessment on climate. At the end of this lesson, students will know and be able to explain: climate is measured and discussed by temperature and precipitation only, differences between climate and weather (long-term averages, versus daily conditions), basic familiarity with different climates in the world, and factors that could affect climate.

This includes a pdf file with the lesson plan and handouts, a smartboard file, and the same smartboard file converted to a PowerPoint.
