The Techie Teacher

This is a zip file that contains the following activities about weathering and erosion:

1. Instructional Weathering and Erosion PowerPoint: Weathering is compared to a hammer that "breaks down" rock while erosion is compared to a broom that "sweeps" broken rock away. The last portion of the Powerpoint is to test for student understanding. Slide 22 can be printed and cut into strips (Weathering side and Erosion side) that can be put on popsicle sticks or straws. Students can use them to serve as their silent response. Eight different questions are posed in which the students have to determine whether the slide is an example of weathering or erosion.

2. Weathering and Erosion Reading Passages: These are two different reading passages. One is about weathering and one is about erosion. Comprehension questions are open ended and students have to use the text to answer each question.

Answer keys are included.

3. Weathering, Erosion and Deposition Brochure Template: Students use their knowledge about these terms to create an informative brochure.

4. Weathering and Erosion Booklet: Students fill in close sentences using terminology associated with weathering and erosion. This is a great study tool to send home!

Answer keys included.

5. Question sheets and answer key to go along with The Magic School Bus Rocks and Rolls video or read aloud.
