Need an introductory activity, a "hook", or something to get the kids up and moving? In my classroom I have cut out the information cards and taped them around the room, in the hall, etc. (whatever works for your management and class). Students move around the rooms with their partner and read the cards to find the answers to the questions.
*Student answer sheet with 12 definitions (a word bank is included)
* 18 information cards with photos (some are fun facts and not answers to questions)
Note: my students struggled a little on this because they had to read information on the cards and figure out the answer because the definitions were worded differently on the cards. For my lower level students I eliminated the "fun fact" cards. For my higher level students I only allowed the to view the word bank for a few minutes rather than to have it on their paper.
