Web Design & Development 1 in HTML & CSS -- Unit 8 Capstone Projects:
This is the final unit in an eight-unit course which aims for students to master HTML & CSS basics to write complete static web pages. This unit is all about students applying their cumulative knowledge from the course to implement a multi-page web site, according to basic requirements in a rubric. Students have the freedom to get an approved topic of their choice for the content of the site, and they will analyze one of their techniques in a short essay included in the project.
Throughout the project, students will practice time management and goal-setting techniques, attribute intellectual property, and participate in multiple revisions of their work to ensure quality.
The files provided for this unit include:
• 2-page lesson plan for teachers
• 5-page overview document to guide the detailed activities of both students and teachers
• editable grading rubric
• 3 sample projects with filled-in grading rubrics
For the previous unit, see Unit 7: Layouts and Response. If you need a complete curriculum for teaching HTML & CSS in a classroom setting, consider the complete 8-unit bundle for a full class in HTML & CSS.
