Tutorial: Introduction to CSS - Students learn how CSS is written and how to change the appearance of any HTML element on the page. Color schemes and style guides are also covered.
Tutorial: External CSS - Students learn how to include CSS code in a single file that is shared by multiple web pages. The three levels of “cascading” is also demonstrated. Using code, students experience which level has precedence over the others.
Tutorial: CSS Grid Layout - Students learn how to design a page layout using a grid. This is the most modern way to display elements on the page and replaces tables or other out-of-date layout methods.
Tutorial: A CSS Flexbox Menu — Menus are one of the most requested items as students begin adding more pages to their site. This tutorial helps them build a responsive menu while learning how to arrange elements for structures such as menus, photo displays, and other repeating elements.
Tutorial: Responsive Design - This tutorial emphasizes the importance of creating responsive pages. Web pages that automatically adjust no matter what device is being used.

3 classroom labs - Each lab includes a Powerpoint and code. 95% of the code is pre-written so students don’t get bogged down with typing errors.
Week 1 Lab: CSS Grid Introduce your students to color schemes, style guides, and using the CSS Grid layout.
Students create their own color scheme and add code to an existing page so it utilizes the CSS Grid features.
Week 2 Lab: CSS Flexbox Introduce your students to font stacks, the cascading effect of CSS, CSS Flexbox, and Google fonts.
Each student is given a page for a yoga studio changing the heading to display two photos and the company name using Flexbox.
Week 3 Lab: Animation Your students animate objects on the page using CSS. This is a very popular lab!
Students start with a page containing multiple colored areas. Each one demonstrates a different animation technique. Students also work with a page containing images of gears, learning how to make the gears rotate.
2 Quiz Banks - 74 quiz questions covering the CSS, Grid, and Flexbox. Questions are formatted as a Moodle GIFT file in plain text making them easy to edit and change.
Project Specifications for Project: CSS. Includes the learning objectives from the syllabus and specific criteria for your students. You can edit the document using Microsoft Word or use a text editor.
