Webinars are becoming a common way for teachers to earn professional development training hours in a convenient setting. Whether it is viewing a session on an educational technique during naptime, a planning period, before / after school, or sitting in your pajamas in front of your home computer, the convenience of webinars can’t be beat – especially when they are recorded and can be viewed on-demand at the viewer’s leisure. In this resource, we are going to be focusing on live webinars.
The live webinar leader has a unique set of problems that are unlike those of a traditional, face-to-face training session. Very often, the viewer is nothing more than a name on a list of attendees. The options for engagement are limited – and there’s no true way of knowing that the viewer is even paying attention to what is on the screen. Regardless of the level of engagement, the viewer receives attendance, and professional development credit simply for remaining signed in for the duration of the webinar.
