These activities allow students to examine immigration trends and experiences during the Gilded Age. Students will first complete a simple webquest. The "Reflection Questions" are intended to be used in conjunction with John Green's "Crash Course US History" episode about immigration (located on YouTube).
Finally, students use what they have learned in a RAFT assignments, taking content information and writing authentically about the experiences of a Gilded Age immigrant. Students are given the opportunity to develop empathy skills, writing skills, and content skills all in one!
