Six questions linked to six different websites ask students to compare and contrast, synthesize, analyze, and evaluate a variety of readings including Lincoln letters, a national park site write up, and a scholarly critique of Carl Sandburg's biography. This webquest can be used in conjunction with an excerpt of Sandburg's Lincoln biography or with the whole work. Students can be asked to complete the work individually or in small groups. Skills students should be able to use with this activity include skimming and scanning and using textual features such as titles and subheadings to help determine main ideas and details.
