Week of Comprehension/Inference Warm-Ups

Word Document File (20 KB|3 pages)

You are getting 5 very challenging multiple-choice (inference and reading comprehension) questions/passages--one warm-up question for every day of the week.

Each question is STAAR-stemmed and based off of some type of juvenile fiction passage (included). I made these myself and I have used them in multiple levels of junior-high ELAR/ESL classes. They are not easy. But each passage offers multiple context clues to support only one answer choice. My students love being challenged with these questions and they especially love the discussion that follows with regard to the supporting context clues they identified to support their answer choices. You won't find better inference/comprehension questions anywhere! I promise! Try my product for one week as a warm-up as the students walk in the door. Allow them 5-7 minutes to answer the day's question and then enjoy the discussion and enlightenment that follows as you explain the many clues to support the correct answer choice. If you like my product, please follow me on TPT and buy more as I put them out each week!
