Use this template each Monday for students to share and reflect on their weekends!

Many of us like to learn more about our students and having them write about their weekend is a great way for kids to share their experiences with you and their peers! This template is a great tool for kids to illustrate and write about their weekend. High-lighting special events in a keepsake journal is a wonderful way to share student growth with parents. This resource is complete with a coversheet that includes a place for an illustration such as a self-portrait and a place for students to write a little about themselves; the featured author!

Helpful Hints:

I simply count the number of Mondays in our school year, print as many pages as there are Mondays for each child and then attach the coversheet to the front and a blank sheet to the back. I did borrow the fancy book stapler from our school librarian and some shiny red library tape to cover the staples. I like to look for the tape over the staples. I is similar to a composition book and fits nicely in the student desks. My kiddos have loved writing about their weekends and sharing their stories with the class. I often have them sit in small circles of four or five kids to share their stories. Our school receives little stickers of individual school pictures that we will put in the corner of each journal as well.
