At the end of each week, I send home all papers (mail) collected in my students' mailboxes. Each student provides a folder and I staple a WAF sheet to the front of their folder. WAF stands for Weekly Assignment Folder, or the place where all information goes home for the week, I call it "mail". There is a parent signature line along with directions. Parents seem to like this being sent home 1 time a week, rather than every night.
I like to do this at the end of the week because being a parent myself, it is very difficult to look at papers each night. I understand the rigorous schedules in American homes today. Therefore, I send this folder home on Friday, and expect it will be signed and returned on the next school day.
As soon as I know the year's schedule, I change the dates to reflect the last day of the week. Then I have these xeroxed and ready for the first week of school.
