This is my updated version of a behavior chart I have used for years in my classroom and has been so successful!
Using my color-coded behavior clip chart, student record in the "Daily Behavior" bubble each day what color they ended the day on. They also "self assess" and check their work folders, and if there is nothing on the "unfinished work" side of their folder, they get to give themselves a happy face in the box marked "Class Work".
My students are ALWAYS very motivated to fill their chart with happy faces and green or blue days (which, in my room, are great or AWESOME days . . .). You could also modify this chart to use stickers for days when work is completed, or you could fill it out yourself as the teacher if your kiddos weren't ready for the responsibility.
The setup of this chart allows for lots of organization! I use the apple in the upper left corner to put each student's number, which is so much less time consuming than writing their name. I also fill in the week that the sheet is for (Ex: Dec. 5-9). On Fridays when the chart is completed students can take it home OR you could send it home the following Monday in their HW or communication folder.
I love using this tools as a way to communicate to parents the kinds of behavior their child is displaying in class so that parents are able to reward or reinforce consequences at home if necessary.
Hope this tool is something helpful for your classroom as well!
Thanks for stopping by!
