This is a great activity that can be used all year to challenge students and review important key knowledge and skills! I use this as an Early Finisher Station, but it could even be a display outside your door for multiple grade levels to use!
(These questions were created for 5th Grade, but could be used as a challenge for 4th grade, or a great review tool for 6th grade!)
This download includes:
**A "To The Teacher" page explaining how I use this resource in my classroom.
**51 questions to be posted weekly (or any time interval you wish): there are a total of 17 Math questions, 17 Reading Language Arts questions, and 17 Social Studies Questions. The Math and Language Arts questions are based on Common Core Standards for 5th Grade and have the corresponding standard for each question printed at the bottom. The social studies questions are based on content we cover in Social Studies in 5th Grade (including Map Skills, American History, and Economics.)
**An answer sheet for you to copy and cut for students to answer each week.
**An answer key including answers for each of the 51 questions.
Directions for use:
-Use the Cover Page as a Header for your Challenge Cove Station (I also place a sheet protector under the header for the question page each week)
-Print answer slips and use a small pocket to hold them.
-Choose your challenge question for the week (you can go in order, or choose one that corresponds with what you are working on)
-Print the question and place in sheet protector
-Have a small basket or second pocket for students to put answers.
-Draw a slip on Friday and give the student a treat if their answer is correct.
-Discuss the correct answer and process for getting the answer (if needed) with the students.
Your students are going to LOVE answering these questions each week! What a great way to have a yearlong instant activity for early finishers while also covering a wide variety of tested topics! These questions will also help spark interest in students, many of which will go home and research to find the answers-- which will lead them to learn even more about the topic! It is also very easy to print these questions for all year, and make the changing of the questions each week a classroom job.
