These weekly reading logs focusing on comprehension strategies can be used in a variety of ways with your students to track their reading. They are set up to be a one page (front & back) reading log that would be used throughout one week. They include daily prompts to guide students' thinking about how to use specific reading strategies in both fiction & non-fiction texts.
You can use them as:
1. Independent Reading Logs - Teach a mini-lesson on the specified reading strategy for that day & then students practice using that strategy with their own book & write about it on the log each day.
2. Book Clubs - Use the logs for students to complete with a group who is reading the same book. When they meet they can discuss the daily reading strategy and how they responded on the log.
