Included in this product are resources for you to teach idioms, adages, and proverbs in context. Students can use context clues to infer the meaning of common idioms, adages, and proverbs. This product is broken up into a set of 36 full pages of idioms written in context and 36 full pages of adages/proverbs written in context. They can be displayed on a bulletin board or in a classroom literacy center.
I have included several different forms for students to respond to the idioms, adages, and proverbs. There is a page for students to try and determine whether each saying is an idioms or an adage/proverb. There are also a page that is specific to idioms and a page that is specific to adages and proverbs. In addition, I have included a page so that students can research the origin of each adage/proverb included. Finally, there is a smaller version of the response page that can be copied and cut in half.
