We use this Weekly Math Grading Log to keep track of our students' math work during the week on one sheet of paper. By using this, we are able to keep track of:
1.) daily homework
2.) daily spiral math review (bellwork or morning work)
3.) weekly math options
4.) students' use of mathematical practices
Using this really cuts down on the chaos of paperwork. Stamping can be done daily to verify grades written on the menu are accurate. The log can be copied and filed to create a math snapshot for each student.
We love the fact that there is a way to keep track of the mathematical practices that are so important in the common core. Weekly self-assessment and teacher assessment of these practices makes them more important to the students. It also helps us remember them when we are lesson planning.
It is an editable document created in Word 2010, so you can change the information in the cells to best fit your needs.
