PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Want an easy and quick way to have your students write every day? Let me introduce to you the Weekly Paragraph!

Only 15 minutes a day will have your students going through the writing steps and on their way to creating great paragraphs. By the end of the year, your students will have become better at brainstorming, getting ideas down on paper, giving supporting details and explaining their opinions, writing introductory and concluding sentences, revising their rough drafts and typing for publication purposes. They will be able to constructively criticize their paragraph and others, determine what they need to improve next week and actually see their progress week by week!

This wonderful product includes:

- A full description of how I implemented this in my classroom and how you can easily implement it into yours

- Blank templates for each day of the week. I’ve also included a page where they can write their good copy instead typing it if you prefer

- A 4-in-1 sheet, sort of like a mini-anchor sheet that they can place in their binder for a quick reminder

- The success criteria for the paragraph

- A task rubric for you to evaluate them

- Bookmarks that are a quick reference

- Post-it sized peer evaluation

- A list of possible topics for you to use. Sometimes it’s tough!

How to use in your classroom

I used this product every morning, the first 15 minutes of the day. The students knew exactly what to do when they came in the classroom and got right to work. You can use it as part of your literacy center, or at any other time of the day.

I strongly suggest setting aside the same time every day, like that students get into the routine and you minimize wasted time.
