The December Paragraph Writing Prompts was created to provide students with a STRUCTURED and GUIDED format when writing a single paragraph. All writing prompts are with a "DECEMBER" theme and include 1 Informative, 1 Opinion, 1 Narrative, and 1 Descriptive Writing Prompt.

SEPTEMBER PROMPTS:

#1 Describe how it feels to be outside on a cold winter’s day.

#2 What would you do if you woke up in a gingerbread house?

#3 What hot drink do you enjoy the most and why?

#4 Tell about one tradition you enjoy during the holidays.

***The resource “builds” each day so that the more significant task of writing a paragraph is broken into small chunks. Therefore, the students will build their paragraphs each day and end the week with a strong paragraph.

EACH PROMPTS STRUCTURE INCLUDES:

  • Brainstorming
  • Note-Taking Graphic Organizer
  • Writing a Topic Sentence
  • Writing the Details
  • Writing a Concluding Sentence
  • Adding the Final Touches
  • Completed Writing Page

This is a PRINTABLE resource. If you are interested in Google Slides, click below.

***My DECEMBER Writing Prompts for Google Slides have the same writing prompts. Please do not purchase both. You are able to print the google slides if desired.

(I have included two schedule options although the resource may be used to fit the needs of any class.) Your students will no longer feel “overwhelmed,” but instead will feel empowered and supported when writing.

The Resource Includes:

  • Four DECEMBER writing prompts (Informative, Opinion, Narrative & Descriptive Writing)
  • Two Classroom Posters of Schedule options
  • Lined Paper for the Final Writing
  • Google Slides (assign with Google or maybe printed)

Each Prompt Includes:

  • Writing Prompt
  • Brainstorming Worksheet
  • Paragraph Outline Note-Taking Form
  • Topic Sentence Worksheet
  • Details Worksheet
  • Concluding Sentence Worksheet
  • Final Touches Worksheet
  • Writing Worksheet
