This product is a set of nightly homework to be used with the Reading A - Z phonics story "A Crow with Flaws". This story helps students practice the "aw" "au" and "al" spelling patterns as well as build their fluency through repeated reading of the phonics based book each night.
There is note to parents included that explains the expectations for the homework assignments each night.
The homework assignments each night are:
Monday - Students are to find 10 words that follow the phonics rule in the story and then come up with additional words on their own that follow the same rule.
Tuesday - Students use the words from their homework completed on Monday night and put them in ABC order.
Wednesday - Students choose 5 of the phonics pattern words and use them in original sentences.
Thursday - Students answer basic comprehension questions about the story through written responses.
This could be used in grades K - 2 as differentiated homework assignments based on the needs of your students in your class.
