This is a mentor text for a Weekly Reading Letter, where I ask students to reflect on their reading from the past week. This letter includes a plot summary, character traits, questioning, predicting, text connects, and recommendations.
I make a copy of this for each student to include in their notebook. We annotate, noticing structure of letter and the reading strategies that are included in the letter. Students use this a model for their own weekly letters.
I also print this as a poster to hang in the room.
