This editable weekly reading reflection is a great activity to have students write about their independent or group reading novels. Use it as a quick formative assessment over their reading. They will cite what pages/chapters they read, summarize the main ideas from the section, use text evidence to make predictions over what will happen next, analyze the character development, unpack difficult vocabulary words, and make connections to/judgments about important quotes from the section. It combines a dialectical journal with a general reading log to assess student's understanding of the section. Can be completed in groups or individually!
