Another Grab & Go Resource from yayEIOU!
A great "I'm Done!" resource or end of the week activity to get students thinking about their own learning. By utilizing a simple metacognitive process, this activity is great for all elementary and middle school grade levels!
How I've used this in my own classroom:
After working through our first week of school's Weekly Reflection together, students independently completed this activity after a Friday assessment. Students kept each copy in their data binders which served as a journal throughout the year. Students loved looking back on past week's reflections and seeing their goals become achievements.
First Year Tip: Always, always, always model reflection activities with students prior to having them complete independently. You'll save yourself lots of time if you provide students with solid examples of goal setting and celebrating successes. Think about how difficult it is for adults to set goals and then imagine how hard it can be if you're only 8 years old! Scaffold this process with students again and again until they've got it down.
