Not sure how to manage missing homework? Here is a "weekly report" based on class rules. I've tweaked this system for years. This version works the best!
There are 3 main parts:
1) Missing Assignment Alerts: I copy these in bulk so I never run out. Always use the same color. Pass them out to students when they are missing a homework assignment. Students fill them out and turn them in at their first recess. These get filed in a folder system with their names. Once a week they are stapled to the back of the weekly report.
2) Weekly Reports: I copy these all at once. Use a different color from your missing assignment alerts. Give them out a few minutes before your last recess on Wednesday. They self-evaluate with E-S-N based on class rules at the top and leave the bottom blank.
3) Putting it all together: This part takes about 10 minutes of my recess on Wednesday, but it's worth it. I fill out the bottom of each student's report (numbers only) and staple their week's worth of assignments to the back. These go home to be signed by the next day.
JUST LET ME KNOW AND I WILL SEND YOU THE DOC VERSION SO YOU CAN WRITE YOUR OWN RULES AND CHANGE THE DAYS, AS NEEDED. :)
