Are you an organization freak? Or are you really bad at it so you force yourself to be an organization freak? (that's me!!!)
I made this weekly sheet because all of the sticky notes and the random half sheets of paper on my desk were driving me absolutely insane!
On the front of this "Weekly Sheet," I like to keep track of who is absent (so that I know when students ACTUALLY missed an assignment or when they just didn't do it), write down assignments given and graded, record discipline issues, gratitude, missing assignments from the previous week, and biggest to-dos.
The last section is for recording missing assignments. This helps me a TON because I generally don't collect homework (UM...who wants 90 sheets of paper just sitting in the to-grade bin for a week?). Instead, I choose to grade based on participation by walking around the room and checking homework. I record it on my Weekly Sheet and then record it on my computer later.
If it helps you to use that part for something else, GO FOR IT!
I hope this helps make your crazy, run-around-with-your-head-cut-off teacher life just a little better. :)
