PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Why I love this activity…

First, I love this because my students really love it.
They enjoy looking at weather channel or watching the news and recording what they see.
Most really enjoy researching a different city and seeing how different it is than ours!
I also love how it gets students using sources to gather information and documenting the sources they use.
Finally, I love that it allows them to write about real life experiences while learning new vocabulary associated with weather.
There are so many extension activities as well.
Students can write about their weather report
There is an extra box in the chart where students can write what to wear or a sample activity appropriate for that weather.
Students can record their weather reports.
They can cut and paste weather symbols or draw their own.
Students can complete two weather charts to compare and contrast.
Finally, students can chart if the weather predicted was accurate.

Some choose to use this as a weekly center. Others assign one weather person per week. Some simply incorporate it into weather units.
