The Welcome Wreath hanging on your classroom door is a fun way to greet students and visitors every day! We are all alike, yet we are all different and in our classroom we are all Welcome! :)
In this resource you will find:
Pages 3-4: Boy and Girl Templates for students to design & draw themselves. I copy on cardstock and allow students to pick out their body template. Students can draw their faces or you can take students pictures during the first week of school (I love to do this anyway for labeling things) and then print them out and attach them.
Page 5-7: Welcome Signs to place in the center of the wreath
Page 8-9: One of my first read alouds was the book, We are all alike, We are all different by Cheltenham Elementary Kindergarteners. It was a way to begin talking about how we might be like our friends or different from our friends. The message celebrates our similarities & differences and that we are a classroom family! I included the classroom printable “My Friends are Alike and Different” as an activity that I would do with my students after the read aloud. I included two versions, including one math version with tally marks).
