UPDATED on April 29, 2019 to add pencil toppers and some jokes you can add to your new student's desk. Also freshened up fonts.
Make your new students feel extra special when they arrive in your class. In this packet, you'll find a Welcome Poem to give to the child, 25 questions that your students can ask the new student (I break up the questions so he/she doesn't get overwhelmed during Morning Meeting) and several "It's a... New Student" stork pages to select from. These sheets (Primary and intermediate lines)can be used two ways: 1. Kids can write letters to your new student or 2. After asking questions, each child can write a few facts they learned about their new friend. Then they can bring home and share the exciting news with their parents. I also take new students picture and hang it up on a stork paper for outside my class for a few weeks so they feel special.
NOTE: I run one complete set of both the blue and pink stork papers so I'm good to go when the new student arrives. Don't they always seem to arrive on a hectic day with little or no advance notice? I use colored copies since the only colored parts are the tiny hearts and beak on each one. ENJOY!
