We’re Going on a Lion Hunt! Language Companion Packet!

Similar to the popular, "We're Going on a Bear Hunt!'
This is a companion packet to “We’re Going on a Lion Hunt”, which is a variation of “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. It can be used with other We’re Going on a Lion Hunt books and songs; however, this is the version that was used during development of this packet. I reviewed many versions and this one was my favorite.

We’re Going on a Lion Hunt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03i5v1PS7P4 by Kiboomu Kids Songs (FREE)

This is a great version. It has cute graphics and repetitive wording. Students will enjoy singing along...there are plenty of gestures and actions that you can add to the song as you sing along!

Ideas and Props: You can use props if available. For the grass, you can string streamers from a hula hoop or tunnel tent for the students to crawl through. For the river, you can use a large, long section of blue paper and have the students walk/swim across it. For the mud, you can use a large, long section of brown paper and have the kids pretend to get stuck in the mud as they stomp across it. For the cave, you can place a stuffed lion or the clip art image included in this packet in a hiding spot. Students can take turns peeking in the hiding spot (with or without a flashlight) and role play being ‘scared’. A pop-up tent is great for the cave. You could also use a large cardboard box or closet to hide the lion.
