Take your students on a word hunt! They will have a blast with this activity while focusing on identifying common trigraphs. I tell students they are part of a detective agency. Their case will be to look for a trio of friends that make a certain sound in a word. Sometimes, I let my students use a mini magnifying glasses. When they find a word with identifying the letter friends, have them write the word in one of the boxes. Then they circle the trigraph. This can be a whole class or small group activity, as well as part of a center. These no prep sheets can be used with any type of text.
*A worksheet for each trigraph sound.
*Trigraph posters (color & B/W) to post on board or in a center.
