This packet gives your students an opportunity to integrate their writing skills with learning about the U.S. Western Movement of the 1800s. Included in the packet are twelve pages of facts on a variety of Western Movement topics, written in note taking format, that students can use to write a paragraph of their own. Also included are two rubrics that teachers can use for grading purposes depending on the skill level of the students. These pages can be used in a variety of settings: centers, independent work, small groups,whole group instruction, homework, etc.
