Pioneers and Westward Expansion Poster Project

Pioneers and Westward Expansion Poster Project - How the West moved West - is a fun and engaging activity for students to demonstrate their knowledge of the Westward Expansion, Lewis Clark, and the early pioneers!

Three separate 8.5 x 11 posters are included - you can choose to use one, two, or all three! Simply print out the posters, and have students fill in the required information. This is perfect for guided research, as it shows students exactly what information they need to include.

When students are done, they can color the cute pioneer related clip art. These look great hanging in the classroom, and make gorgeous hallway displays.

The posters requires students to fill in the following information:

-What does it mean to be a pioneer?
-What is the most interesting thing you have learned about pioneers so far?
-Provide three reasons why people decided to move west?
-Describe what it was like to travel in a covered wagon.
-Describe some of the hardships that early pioneers had to endure on the Oregon Trail.
-Who were Lewis and Clark? What were they trying to accomplish?
-Illustrate something you have learned about pioneers and westward expansion.
-In your own words, explain how the transcontinental railway changed the country.
-List five adjectives to describe the life of a pioneer.
-In detail, describe the events to the California Gold Rush.
-List some of the supplies that early pioneers brought with them on their journey west.
