The Westward Expansion Digital Interactive Notebook is intended as a resource for late-elementary into middle school ages.

It includes 14 different digital interactive graphic organizers and an answer key to help students organize the information you teach! There are no types of informational text for students to read.

2. A Vocabulary Activity (plus a blank copy as well to personalize for your own classroom)
3. The Louisiana Purchase (tabs include "Why did the U.S. want the Louisiana Territory?", "A Noble Bargain and a Great Debate, and the Louisiana Purchase)
4. Lewis and Clark (tabs to take notes on Meriwether Lewis, William Clark, Sacagawea, along with the purpose, discoveries and impact of the expedition)
5. New Roads and Waterways (space for notes on the Wilderness Road, the National Road and the Erie Canal)
6. Florida (students will take notes on the problems/tensions in Florida, Andrew Jackson's invasion and how the U.S. finally acquired Florida)
7. Texas (pages for explaining the reason why the U.S. wanted to acquire the territory, the arrival of Stephen Austin, tensions with Mexico, rebellion in Texas, the Alamo and Texas independence and annexation)
8. Oregon Country (tabs for recording information about why the U.S. wanted to acquire the territory, the Adams-Onis Treaty, the Mountain Men and the 49th Parallel)
9. The Oregon Trail (tabs for students to answer the following questions: Who were the pioneers? Why did the pioneers move to Oregon Country? What hardships did the pioneers face? What is the legacy of the pioneers?)
10. Mexican-American War (tabs for the students to take notes on the cause of the war, the goals of the war, New Mexico, California, the invasion of Mexico and the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo)
11. California Territory (students will take notes on the Gold Rush, the life of a forty-niner and Chinese immigrants)
12. Utah Territory (students will answer the following questions: Who were the Mormons? Why did the Mormons move West? What hardships did the Mormons face? What is the legacy of the Mormons in Utah?)
13. The Gadsden Purchase (students will take notes on the reasons why the U.S. wanted to acquire the territory and the details of the purchase)
14. Manifest Destiny Map (a blank map with the outlines of the territories. Students can label them and write the date each was acquired by the U.S.)
15. My Pictures of Westward Expansion (a page where students can add relevant pictures related to the content they studied)
