Students create a poster board map of the United States showing the American territorial expansion between the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. The map focuses on teaching vital map skills like creating and using a key to represent ideas. The map will also serve as a review of the various ways in which territories were added to the United States, when, and whether they were slave or free when they were created.
Updated 1/11/17--Added 3 cut-out pages for students to more easily assemble to project. Please note: boundary lines are not exact. Alaska, Hawaii, and Gadsden Purchase are not a part of this project.
