Product Description
This is for a Power Point on the Westward Expansion Unit as well as the notes, and guided notes to match the Power Point and the matching objective homework sheet to match. I sell the whole unit with all assignments bundled separately, so be sure to not to purchase both.

In my Westward Expansion Unit I included the following main topics:
Louisiana Purchase (Lewis and Clark etc)
Industrial Revolution
War of 1812
Alamo
Mexican American War
Indian Removal Act
Trial of Tears
Manifest Destiny
Oregon Trail
Gold Rush

I have used this with Middle and High school students and it works great for both levels.

You will get the following items:
Power Point on Westward Expansion
Notes that go along with the PowerPoint
Guided Notes for the students to go along with the Power Point
Self Studies for some of the objectives
Homework that matches the Power Point (called the Objective and Vocabulary Sheet)
Lesson Test (2 Versions)
Newspaper Article Project
Children’s Book Group Project
Brian Pop Web Search
Illustrated Timeline
Homework Assignment (This is has students make a timeline, identify items on a map, and do a reading portion)
Manifest Density Picture Analyzing Assignment
Lewis and Clark Web Search
Oregon Trail Game Power Point
Gold Rush Fun Facts Power Point

I break the Power Point/Notes into Objective numbers, for example Objective #1 covers Louisiana Purchase (Lewis and Clark), Objective #2 covers War of 1812. This keeps it manageable for the students and teacher; thus, students know what was learned on each day.

I have used this unit many, many times and have GREAT success with student’s retention of material.
