This worksheet goes along with the online version of the game Westward Trail. Students use the worksheet to get an idea of the variety of decisions and issues that arise while pioneers tried to get to Oregon on the Oregon Trail. I am not affiliated with the web site in anyway. I just created this worksheet for my students to fill out while they played the game. The sheet asks the students to list several problems they encountered along the way and how they solved them. They finish by writing a problem-solution letter back to a family member or friend in the east with advice on how best to get to Oregon. My 8th graders love when they get to play Oregon Trail! I go over the pages of directions the day before so they have an idea of what they have to do. I know I got the info for the direction sheet from the web site years ago but I can no longer find it on the web site. I do not take credit for that information but am providing it as a help for you and your students.
