This unit is targeted to the 2nd through 4th grade students. It will be harder for the 2nd grade students, but may be a little too easy for 4th graders (but it depends on ability level and classroom dynamics). To introduce and encourage research skills, we've included a KWL chart, a KWL chart example, suggested guiding questions, and website and book report forms. For Science, we've included a life cycle of the dragon fly cut and paste activity. There is much emphasis in Math extensions, with seven Math activities. Students will compare numbers up to 1 million. To provide ample practice for multiplication fluency, there are 3 skip counting activities. To provide students with practice of the awareness of operations, we have provided a watch the signs activity. There are also some word problems included. To extend into writing, we've included 4 activities of sentence stretchers that help students move beyond simple subjects and predicates. There are answer keys included where they are relevant.
