This whimsical set consists of 16 character traits. The trait is named, defined, and illustrated. The jars can be put on a bulletin board or one displayed each week as a focus trait. The character traits that show students how to be their personal best include: cooperation, organization, perseverance, kindness, common sense, problem solving, courage, curiosity, sense of humor, patience, courtesy, flexibility, effort, pride, integrity, and responsibility. These are also great to keep up all year, or to have in a literacy station for identifying character traits. The students can make connections to these traits and the characters they read about. All year, students and teacher can target the trait and tell how it was used by themselves or others in the class. This helped students learn the behaviors that lead to personal best.
