Looking for a fun way for students to practice manipulating sounds in CVC words?
In this game of What Am I? Bingo, students are asked to change, or manipulate, the initial phoneme in various short e CVC words.
Depending on the readiness level of your students, you (the caller) may simply read the calling cards aloud to students. If your students need more support, you may want to read the calling card aloud and guide them through changing the beginning sound. For example, you might ask students to say the word and then finger stretch the word (thumb, index finger, middle finger). You could then point to the thumb as you guide students through changing the beginning sound of each word.
