Here is a fun resource to use for helping your students learn about number patterns. Aimed at 2nd graders, this file is a powerpoint loaded with short animated video clips revealing number patterns. These pattern are based on 2nd Grade Common Core objectives and feature skip counting by 5s, 10s, and 100s.
A suggested use for this resource is an Around the World challenge activity: have a pair of students stand, and when the pattern is revealed, the student who is first to tell what number comes next in the pattern remains standing to take on another classmate.
Each slide in the powerpoint contains 12 animated video clips. There are ten slides in the powerpoint. As the file progresses, the slides become more challenging.
As with all my resources, this file has been kid-tested and created by a veteran teacher dedicated to the philosophy of promoting math fluency and skill mastery through fun!
