Fantastic Fun at a Fantastic value! This newly revised (11/18) no prep product focuses on animals that hibernate in winter, while also targeting the Kindergarten Common Core Standards for Reading.
Seven animals are highlighted: ground squirrel, brown bat, jumping mouse, black bear, groundhog, box turtle, and the water frog. Contents include two pages of informational text and 10 pages of literacy activities per animal.
Two pages of calendar work are included at the beginning. Print as many as you need for daily calendar work and name writing practice in winter. Also included is a 7-page introduction with complementary literacy activities to introduce the concept of hibernation.
The activities included for each animal are:
Text 1: informational text, All About Me. Tracing activity.
Clap the Syllables. Counting syllables, naming, coloring, tracing.
Text 2: informational text, Where does a (Animal) Hibernate? Getting meaning from text and pictures.
Reading words, phrases, and sentences, tracing.
Sentence completion, drawing.
Recalling and writing a detail(s) about informational text.
Recognizing color words, coloring.
Matching upper to lower case letters.
Recognizing pictures of words that rhyme, coloring.
Identifying beginning sounds/letters of words, coloring.
Identifying ending sounds/letters of words, coloring.
Matching printed words.
Amazing clipart, exciting informational text, fun winter literacy work!
Enjoy learning about what animals do in winter by sharing hibernation fun with your preschoolers and kindergartners.
