"What Do Fish Have to Do with Anything?" by Avi. Explore VOCABULARY, SETTING, PLOT,CHARACTERIZATION, THEME, and SYMBOLISM, with this 26-slide PowerPoint with handouts. Your students will be guided through a whole group reading of the text and a partner reading of the text. Each reading has them actively focusing on aspects of the elements of literature. Small groups will work together on a characterization task as well as on a symbolism task. A separate FINAL PROJECT includes a COMPREHENSION TEST, a WRITING CONNECTION choice of activities, and other concept related choices.
An answer key is provided for the test, and a rubric is included for easy grading of the project.
Due to copyright laws, I cannot include the actual text. If material under copyright law is used in the PowerPoint, I give directions as to which material can be hyperlinked in the PowerPoint notes.
