This Smart Notebook lesson requires 1st and 2nd grade students to identify what each of the songs included in this lesson have in common (sol-la-sol-mi beginning melodic phrases). Sound files of each song are attached so students can hear the beginning phrase of all songs included in this lesson. Picture icons on the staff represent the melodic notation of each song. Students can also use infinitely cloned Solfege Hand Sign icons to label the pitches on the staff.
